Instant Pot: What Is It, How It Works, And Do You Need It?

02 Feb

Some of your friends have it, or maybe your mother won’t stop talking about it and you started to wonder, what is an instant pot? What does it do and how does it even work? What does this do exactly and why does everybody seemed to be calling it to be the miraculous machine?

What Is An Instant Pot?

To put it simply, an instant pot is a rice cooker, pressure cooker, yogurt maker and a slow-cooker all into one. It has the features of all the other types of cooking machines rolled into one amazing machine - which is probably why your neighbor has been talking about their instant pot non-stop!

Literally, you don’t need anything else in the kitchen to make delicious meals as this baby can do mostly everything. Not in the mood to look after the dish you’re cooking? No problem! Dump it in your instant pot, set it and just forget about it (not entirely though, at least before dinner?) and set it to the slow-cooker setting.

With different brands in the market made available to consumers like you, finding one that suits your needs won’t be that difficult. You’ll surely be able to find one brand better than the other, or one brand that’s within your budget compared to the others. The point is, there’s always this instant pot that’s perfectly fit for everybody. Just do your research, compare features, price points, oh, and don’t forget to check customer service, the warranty and after-sales service.

How Does An Instant Pot Work?

For most brands, instant pots are completely programmable. If you’re familiar with those numbers you push in the oven, then you’ll find that instant pots are not that difficult to operate too. You can set your own time - so this means that you can set the cooking time entirely up to your taste. Not in the mood for a dish that takes hours to prepare? You can basically adjust the instant pot’s cooking time to meet your schedule.

But, how about if I leave it longer than it needs to be? Don’t worry. Things happen. The dog starts to make a mess out of everything and you completely forgot you have something in the pot. It won’t burn as most instant pots self-regulate. This means that you don’t have to worry about over-cooking, ever!

Are there limitations? You can cook almost entirely everything - and surprisingly can also cook large amounts of meat too! This means that you can also use this for parties where bigger food batches are required. It’s great for small meal servings to large batches of food.

One thing that you have to take into consideration though is that instant pots usually take too much space in the kitchen. So if you’re planning on getting one, make sure that you have enough space. Probably you can take out all the other cooker and replace it with this one? Why not?

So go ahead, check reviews, read about different brands and look for styles and features that work best for you.
